Engagement Ring Settings

CX Diamond setting standards are the most rigorous in the industry. All CX diamonds are set within customized mountings to accommodate the specific size and shape of diamond. Our master setters work meticulously to ensure that the proportions and surface quality of each stone are stunning from every angle.

Here is an overview of the types of engagement ring setting we offer at CX.

Prong Setting

The most common engagement ring setting, the prong setting features slim metal arms that support the diamond at the center. The prong setting lifts the diamond high above the band, allowing light to enter and exit the diamond from all angles for maximum brilliance, and sparkle.

Bead Setting

In a bead setting, small round pieces of metal are raised from the surface and used as prongs to support each stone. This setting often features a mulitude stones on the band. CX bead set rings illuminate the diamond on its bands to capture an extraordinary sparkle.

Pave Setting

This setting is captivated by a centre diamond and a band of accentuated small side stone diamonds. CX Jewellers features three to six small side stone diamonds to create an astonishing engagement ring to add a little extra sparkle.

Channel Setting

The Channel setting features diamonds set within two parallel walls of metal inside the band. Simple yet stylish, channel-set engagement rings and wedding bands are prized for their seamless flow of dazzle.

Tension Setting

The tension setting is a ring setting that uses compression to hold a stone in its center so that it appears suspended in its place. It created the illusion of a diamond floating between two pieces of mental or within the band. With the open sides it emits the light to enter and creates an exceptional sparkle.

Bezel Setting

A popular setting for engagement rings, this setting features a metal rim that protects the edges of the stone. Bezel-set engagement rings are a flat surface that exposes only the top, of the diamond. The bezel setting is an appropriate style for a low-setting engagement ring.

Cathedral Setting

The cathedral setting adds height and elegance to an engagement ring. This setting features a center stone flanked by arches of metal that comes up from the shank. The graceful arches elevate the center stone above the band, giving it a distinct setting that creates a traditional style ring with a high setting.

Burnish Setting

In a burnish setting, stones are inserted in holes within the band and secured in place by burnishing, or pressing, the metal to cover each stone. This setting protects each diamond by positioning it at or below the metal’s surface.
